"Wee Beasties" would have been a good alternate title for this comic.
So the dwarves, big and small, work for Lena's mom, Lady Linnorm. They're transporting baby monsters north to the wizards' market, when their train crashed (why?). The captive monsters are escaping, but the dwarves are killing them rather than letting them fall into the hands of their enemies (who?).
I'm interested in exploring different kinds of evil in Critters. The dwarves are evil because they're following evil orders, because they put their masters' profits ahead of creatures' lives, and because they seem to enjoy their jobs as slavers and killers. Of course, right now, they are also defending themselves, and avenging one of their own slain by Lena. Is that evil?
